Warning about global warming WWF.

Thanks to the role of Statistics Wordpress, I realized that many people come to this blog looking for "how to address climate change" or similar expressions. That is, for actions to reduce its impact on the phenomenon of global warming.

Therefore, I decided to use my experience writing for TreeHugger.com and give a couple of tracks. I do my own little remaining resources manual, adapted to the possibilities of Argentina, but unfortunately the time I won. Anyway, I think that what follows is to begin.

To begin with a definition, according to StopGlobalWarming (part of the initiative of former U.S. vice president, Al Gore), global warming is causing the effect of carbon dioxide trapped in the atmosphere, which keeps the heat inside of it instead of letting it out into outer space.

If it continues to accumulate heat, the consequences are what we hear every day: rising sea levels, extreme temperatures, and so on. So, how you can help from every one is reducing the so-called carbon footprint that is on the planet: the carbon dioxide they release the goods and services consumed.

Living trying to reduce the footprint (and in some extreme cases, to completely erase it) is what is called lifestyle verde (green lifestyle) in the United States, which has grown enormously in recent years.

Fans of the estimates of emissions can find a link to all the carbon, even recently found that walking to a store is worse for climate change to manage, because the food they need to replenish the calories expenditure driving requires more fuel emissions that it spends a vehicle. Such things are highly debatable, but keep talking forever seems impractical. Is perhaps better to focus on basic things one can do without too much pressure and mass impact.

Moreover, it is worth remembering that global warming and ecology, or general care for all aspects of the environment have many points in common but also many stories. When one begins to get interested in these subjects, sometimes appear too much concern, and to stop discouraging (in Argentina). The key for me is not despair, start with something, we can do today, then if one is interested in expanding its activities, can hope to support and participate in organizations.

The first step would be joining MTV Switch. This site was built by the MTV music channel and several advertising agencies, and has a small guide in Spanish, English and French with more concrete action. Examples: low heat, Do not leave equipment on standby, just boil the amount of water you use for coffee, turn off lights that do not use, switch to low-consumption lamps, wash clothes in cold water, Buying local food.

On the site of this initiative can be found why some of these actions and more.

For those who know English, I surf Guides How to Go Green TreeHugger.

These are documents that offer ten easy tips on how to be greener "on various issues. For example, you can start with the basics to start to be more green, and later followed with specific aspects such as transportation and energy that you use, your personal care, or doing less gifts to impact on the environment.

Could bring some more but I think this is fine for now. I promise to return to things more focused on Argentina. I invite you to comment on resources available, especially if you know any Spanish.
