(Image: Hernan work in Salamanco Panda Project) Through the site Lola Goldstein I met some Galleries Online, that is, spaces for art exhibition on the web.
I found it interesting as a concept because I see that since the crisis art has undergone a process of ceasing to be a little elitist to reach the public at large. Well, perhaps not at the mass, but a public intellectual profile of average levels that do not have the resources of major collectors but with a taste for beauty and inspiration that can provide the art.
As evidence of this, ArteBA, which begins tomorrow and lasts until May 22 at La Rural, joined the section Barrio Nuevo, made up of spaces emerging. As eloquently explained in Santiago García Navarro in a note in the May Elle magazine: "Barrio Young is the result of a very specific cultural process of the last decade: the proliferation of initiatives from independent artists and managers, rather than as a direct response to administrative inefficiency to the híperinstitucionalización (depending on the context) of museums and cultural centers, but rather as the result of a contemporary trend in the formation of microasociaciones flexible networking, management and horizontal spontaneous. " And follows:
"ArteBA seeks to incorporate these new ways of management to streamline the sales channels of works by emerging artists and promote contacts and areas of action, but aims above all to absorb its more innovative features and ideas in order to be written to the experience of the galleries and creating new niche consumer of art. "
With the freshly painted white walls of the department and after reading these things I am very keen to go to ArteBA and make some investment. We'll see.
To draw a bit at work, see the online galleries Rolling House and Panda Project. Also I found interesting in this online magazine Headquarters.
