Japan to lead, series of photographs of Sophie Spandonis.

At last an update, super-delayed for several commitments. On this occasion I wanted to highlight the work of French photographer based in Buenos Aires Sophie Spandonis. I found his work surfing the site of a collective of artists from Found Objects, and I drew attention to these collections of cities that take place to shop.

It is, precisely, a collection of images selected by the artist leaves the impression of a city. In addition to the attractiveness of these, I found very interesting the way consumer photography suggests that, quite in keeping with the times. Usually you do not buy one or two shots, but a collection that deals with the personal vision of a city I find very attractive as a gift and an enjoyment to take immediate and recurring around.

"I like the smaller format because it appeals to me the photograph of details. In addition, there is something very intimate, profane and daily in small format that makes people were appropriates very easily. I like the idea of moving images, which are in a wallet, in a book on the refrigerator, gift to a friend, "says the artist.

More in the extended.

The series of 15 photos cost 30 pesos and sold in Objects Found (Thames 1721, open Monday through Saturday from 12 to 20). In addition, next to another artist collective, Ange Potier, also offer a chest with ten postcards for the same money. The series also have been sold in France for the occasion of an exhibition that opens on Buenos Aires to Paris in August.
